Reclaimed ocean plastic and hemp packaging

Yesterday, we talked about products made from recycled ocean plastics and it seems today we have to add one more company to the list: Sana Packaging a startup the makes its products from hemp and reclaimed ocean plastic.

The Denver-based company make its cannabis packaging using plant-based hemp plastic, recycled ocean plastic, and other sustainable materials. The company was founded in 2015 and has recently raised nearly $150,000 last month from five investors, according to an SEC filing.

Sana Packaging makes screw-top lids, vape cartridge packaging tubes and child resistant vape cartridge containers. Last December Sana launched its second line of cannabis packaging made from plastic recovered from the ocean.

The Sana Ocean Screw-Top lids and glass jars are available in a number of colors and sizes. The lids are child-resistant and made from 100 percent reclaimed ocean plastic in partnership with Oceanworks.

At the end of 2019 and with the help of their customers, Sana Packaging had already removed more than 16 tons of plastic waste from the oceans.
