Applications are open for The Ocean Impact Pitchfest 2022

The Ocean Impact Pitchfest 2022 applications are open. This event is run by the Ocean Impact Organisation (OIO), whose purpose is to transform ocean health through inspiration, innovation, and good business. More information at the OIO website.

Startups have the chance to win a A$50,000 cash prize, with an additional $50,000 for startups working on specific ocean challenges and opportunity areas. There will be two runner-ups that will receive A$10,000. The prizes will be given in cash, instead of grants or investments.

Applying to Pitchfest is a two-step process: An online application form. After that, successful applicants will be invited to submit an up to three-minute pitch video. OIO will contact applicants within 3 business days to inform them if they have been successful in proceeding to Step 2.

Pitchfest is open to applications from all over the world.

Applications close on Tuesday 20 September 2022, for both the written form and pitch video entries. Finalists will be announced on 25 October 2022 and the Winners and Runners Up will be announced on 24 November 2022.

The judging criteria to select the startups is the following:

1. Potential for impact.
2. Innovation.
3. Product-market fit.
4. Competitive advantage.
5. Business plan.
6. Team.
7. Pitch video.
